The Haws win the East of Scotland Cup

The Haws secured their latest piece of silverware at a blustery Blairwood Park in Oakley. It was a hard fought encounter with both teams adapting to the tough weather conditions.

The first half was an even affair between the two teams with not much between them and a 0-0 scoreline was a fair result. The match started to liven up in the 2nd half with some heavy tackles coming in from the Boness team.

The Haws had the best chance of the game with a good attacking build up and one of the strikers missed an open goal from two yards out, firing it over the bar. This was as close as both teams got and the game ran down into the closing minutes with nothing between them.

The referee blew his whistle for full time and the game moved straight to penalties. The Haws keeper making some outstanding saves to give the Haws another cup win, further cementing the Haws claim to being the most successful junior club in Fife.
