Fauldhouse 1 Haws 2

A journey over the bridge to Park View, Fauldhouse on a calm but cold day. The Haws started on the front foot creating a couple of early opportunities. The dominance of possession continued and it was no surprise when a diagonal pass from Greig Smith set up Calum Adamson who calmly steadied himself before slotting the ball beyond the home keeper. Further chances followed but inspired Goalkeeping prevented the lead being extended before half time.
The second half was a much more even affair with few chances in the early exchanges. The Haws were to extend their lead when a ball over the home defence by Hampson was chased by Greig Smith forcing an error from a home defender who was short with a header back to his goalkeeper. Smiths' determination was rewarded when he beat the advancing keeper to the ball and prodded it into the net. Shortly after it seemed the game was finished as an Adam Moffat free kick was helped into the net by a home defender but the Referee spotted an infringement. As the game entered the final stages, Haws lost possession from a throw in saw Fauldhouse score with a deflected shot from the edge of the box. Lee Bryce had an effort from the edge of the box that hit the upright, spun across the goal and Greig Smith followed up to score. Unfortunately the linesman's flag indicated offside and once again no goal. The game ended with a well deserved victory and 3 points for The Haws.
